Wellbeing Course Practitioner

Position:1 post 37.5 hrs

Valleys Steps is seeking to appoint a professional, enthusiastic and motivated Well-being Practitioner to deliver a programme of emotional/mental well-being courses to students and learners, other young people and families alongside provision to adults in the community programme.

Core provision will include delivery of 6 week mindfulness, resilience and stress management courses.

We are looking for applications for a full-time Practitioner working 37.5 hours per week.

Working on Wellbeing, the next face to face pre-employment group training will be starting on Tuesday 11 April 2023 at Legacy in the Community, Swan Street, Merthyr, CF47 8EU.

 
This is a free service to support disabled people in the early stages on their employment journey. We help build confidence and core employment skills before starting their job search.
 
We currently have 8 spaces left.

This can be completed by the individual or, if they have verbal consent, a third party can complete it.
 
We are open to people who are:

  • disabled - including physical or sensory impairments, learning difficulties, autism or mental health conditions
  • aged 16 and over
  • Unemployed
  • Living in Wales

The seven-week pre-employment group training consists of:

  • 2 group sessions delivered each week. Group sessions focus on core skills such as confidence, communication and CV writing.
  • A weekly one-to-one with their dedicated employment adviser. They will support them with your personal work goals.
  • Support to find and keep voluntary work, paid work, education or training.
  • 3 months of fortnightly check in calls once the 7 weeks have finished. We can support with any enrolment or application forms.
  • Exclusive access to the Scope Job Board to find vacancies from inclusive employers.
  • In-work support if they start work whilst with us. This includes practical guidance on requesting adjustments, support with Access to Work forms, and emotional support.

Safeguarding should be a priority for all voluntary organisations, especially those that work with children, young people and adults at risk. Good and appropriate safeguarding provides public reassurance about your organisation and contributes to the positive reputation of the sector in general.

This webinar will provide attendees with a basic introduction to safeguarding policy, principles and practice in the Welsh context.

Join WCVA’s Safeguarding Team for an introduction to Safeguarding, the webinar will provide attendees with a breakdown of the underlying foundations, legislation and guidance for safeguarding in Wales and explore the principles and practice to put in place in your organisation.

During this webinar Suzanne Mollison, WCVA’s Safeguarding Officer will explore key safeguarding messages. There will be time at the end of the webinar for questions. 

 Role of the safeguarding officer

This course aims to provide an in-depth training to safeguarding officers, safeguarding leads or designated safeguarding person within the organisation.  This course will support and aid the designated person with primary responsibility for managing safeguarding and reporting concerns about children, young people and adults at risk, the responsibilities and legal compliance including disseminating the safeguarding policy, procedures and processes throughout the organisation.
