Summer holidays are a well-earned break – but they’re also a brilliant opportunity to try something new, meet new people, and build your confidence. If you’re aged 14+ and want to make your summer more meaningful, volunteering in Merthyr Tydfil could be just what you’re looking for.
Why Volunteer?
Volunteering isn’t just about giving your time – it’s about what you gain too.
Whether you want to boost your CV or UCAS application, gain experience for a future job, or simply give something back to your community, volunteering can help you:

If you’re thinking about a future in areas like health and social care, education, retail, events, or community work, volunteering helps you develop practical skills and see what the job is really like.
“Volunteering helped me to work out what I want to do as a career. It also gave me loads to talk about in my job interview!” – Josh, 18, Merthyr Tydfil
What Can You Do?
There are loads of ways to get involved, even if you’ve never volunteered before.
You could:
And so much more! Whatever you’re interested in doing, our volunteering officers can support you in finding a voluntary role that suits you and matches your interests.
