In this informal session, Becky from easy fundraising will show you how your volunteers, staff and supporters can use the easy fundraising platform to raise donations for free for your organisation when they shop with leading retailers.

Suitable for: anyone involved in fundraising for good causes of all shapes and sizes including voluntary groups, CICs, social enterprises, churches, schools, sports clubs and charities

About easy fundraising

Through easyfundraising, 8,000 online retailers will donate money to your organisation when your volunteers, staff and supporters shop with them. Anything from a weekly grocery shop to a family holiday can generate a free donation for you.  Every 3 months you’ll receive all the donations raised by your supporters and as it’s unrestricted funding, you spend the money on whatever you need.

You will have the opportunity to ask questions and share your experiences too.

About us: Voluntary Action Merthyr Tydfil (VAMT) is the County Voluntary Council (CVC) for the County Borough of Merthyr Tydfil and has existed since 1997.  VAMT is a part of Third Sector Support Wales (TSSW) which is a network of support organisations for the third sector. About this role:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the postholder will support VAMT in its delivery of the TSSW Infrastructure Agreement, particularly the strategic aim to “strengthen representation and influence of third sector organisations”

The postholder will line manager the team of Community Coordinators and ensure accurate records are kept up to date via a bespoke CRM system.

  • working in the third sector at a strategic level
  • partnership and collaborative working across sectors
  • managing a team of staff

Group A

Basic Awareness

25th March 2025 9:30 – 1pm (in person session)

All staff working in: social care, health care, local authority departments, police, education, early years, the third and voluntary sector (including volunteers) are required to undertake basic awareness training. This session will give you an overview of what safeguarding is and how it impacts on your role in the community.

Group B

Recognition and Response

31st March 2025 – 9:30 to 4:30 (in person session)

This session is for anyone who has regular contact with adults, children and members of the public in their roles. This includes practitioners who are or aren't registered or regulated and volunteers. The session will enable you to recognise a safeguarding situation and what measurers and procedure you need to respond.

Both training sessions will be held in the Voluntary Action Merthyr Tydfil, 89-90 High Street, Pontmorlais, Merthyr Tydfil, CF47 8UH.
