Fir Tree’s Fantastic Famous 6!

We would like to use this week to give a huge shout out to our wonderful gang of Trustee’s, without their dedication, hard work and commitment we wouldn’t be the proud organisation we are today.

Our Trustee’s have worked hard this year to review our vision and create our new & exciting strategy for the next 4 years.

Some of our trustees have been with us from the beginning, meaning they have been working for the good of our community for over 20 years! We are however grateful to have the opportunity to thank each and every one of them.

Richard Thomas – Our current Chairman, Glenn & Marion – Original founders, Gemma – Our company Secretary and our in house Credit Union representative, Gareth – A dedicated and active member of his community, Bethan – Bethan is a huge asset to our Board not just as our resident Welsh speaker.

I think you will agree that we have a pretty talented bunch of individuals and we feel incredibly fortunate to have each and every one of them on our board of trustees!

Welsh Charities Week is back from 13 – 17 November, recognising the amazing work of charities, social enterprises, voluntary organisations and community and volunteer groups in Wales.

The last few years have seen the voluntary sector and country as a whole endure a series of challenges and difficult circumstances. Welsh Charities Week is a chance to recognise and celebrate all the work that people and organisations across the voluntary sector in Wales do to shine a bit of light in the dark. It’s an opportunity to come together and show appreciation, to show people the difference our sector makes.

There are plenty of easy ways to get involved in #WelshCharitiesWeek. Here are some of the ways voluntary organisations can get involved:

  • SHARE A SHORT VIDEO: Create a video about your work on social media and remember to use #WelshCharitiesWeek. We’ve created a simple guide on how to create your video.
  • HIGHLIGHT YOUR STAFF OR VOLUNTEERS: Tell the world about a staff member, volunteer or team and the difference they make by posting on social media, or organise a celebration for them using one of our Party Packs. Post your thank you message and any photos you might have on social media using #WelshCharitiesWeek (please make sure you have the consent of everyone featured).
  • SHARE THE CAMPAIGN PACK: Send the Welsh Charities Week campaign packto your friends, supporters and partners and ask them to support your work by getting involved in Welsh Charities Week.

Whether you work or volunteer with a charitable organisation or you just want to big up a charity that you love, there are plenty of ways to get involved in Welsh Charities Week.

Volunteer, donate or give a shout out to your favourite charity or voluntary group!

The Welsh Charities Week campaign pack has ideas for how individuals can get involved.
