 They have a campaign running in September this year, 15th-21st September - to inspire people across Wales to discover new learning opportunities and pathways.  This may be particularly of interest to partners and older people locally, and there's many ways to get involved.

Taith provides grant funding to a variety of organisations from every education sector in Wales, including Schools, Youth, Adult Education, Further Education, Vocational Education and Training and Higher Education, to undertake international exchange activities. They have a focus on providing life changing opportunities for learners and staff across all age groups and backgrounds and is committed to supporting people from underrepresented and disadvantaged groups.

Taith’s Pathway 2 funding is available to any non-profit educational or training organisation in Wales seeking to fund an international collaborative project. To qualify, projects must address specific issues or sector priorities in Wales. Pathway 2 projects offer staff and learners opportunities to enhance their understanding and knowledge of key themes while developing collaborative outputs with international partners.

Pathway 2 2025 will open for applications in the autumn. 

They are eager to encourage any organisations looking to partner with international counterparts within the WHO Global Network of Age-Friendly Cities & Communities to learn from positive intergenerational activities and best practices from other countries, and to implement these insights in Wales to further develop this area. Are you interested in being a Voluntary Sector representative at Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Councils Scrutiny Committees?

Be vocal and help make a difference... Become a Co-opted Member on one of Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council's Scrutiny Committees.

Scrutiny is an umbrella term covering a wide range of roles with key legislative responsibility for:

• Holding the Cabinet to account
• Policy Review and Development
• Reviewing and scrutinising the performance of the Council and help drive improvements in services.
• External scrutiny

Overview and Scrutiny Committees help ensure local public services are delivered effectively and efficiently and have wide ranging powers to investigate areas of local interest.

Scrutiny can question decision takers, call in expert witnesses or hear evidence from other local stakeholders.  Investigations are not restricted to Council run services, any area of interest to the local community may be investigated by scrutiny.

There are currently vacancies for Voluntary Sector Co-opted representative on three Scrutiny Committees.

• Healthier Merthyr Tydfil Scrutiny

Over the coming months, we have two Dementia Friendly activities scheduled at our museums:

Paper coastal landscapes: National Museum Cardiff, 7 August at 1:30 - 4pm

Harvest: St Fagan's National Museum of History, 11^th September at 1 – 4pm

These sessions are open to both those living with dementia and those supporting people living with dementia.
