The National Lottery Community Fund is organising a series of funding advice events, for charities and voluntary groups supporting older people across the South-East Wales region.

We are here to support communities through our open funding programmes, especially as they recover from the COVID-19 pandemic or face the increased challenges of the cost-of-living crisis.

We know older people are among the hardest hit so we have arranged a number of ways where you or groups you support can speak with a local Funding Officer.

There’s still time to book a space on the training session below.  We have four FREE places still available – first come first served.

FREE YOUTH OPEN MIC & PIZZA

Tuesday 21st March 2023

17:30-20:30

The Factory, Porth

The Cwm Taf Morgannwg Regional Partnership Board would like to invite young people aged 11-24 from across the Cwm Taf Morgannwg region to an exciting event to mark World Poetry Day.

See more details here.

Throughout Spring half-term we worked with young people, including young carers and those who are care experienced to develop creative pieces.

The event will showcase powerful music and spoken word written during this week.

It will also give other young people an opportunity to share their own experiences through creativity

In addition, there will be also be a host of professional musicians and writers in attendance sharing pieces written with young people in Autumn 2022.

A live Q&A session with these experts will also be held for young people wanting to express themselves creatively to influence change in the future.

This is a great opportunity for young people living in Rhondda Cynon Taf, Bridgend and Merthyr Tydfil, and we really hope you would like to join. Transport can be funded if arranged by your organisation.

Please sign up here if you would like to attend.

If you would like any further information about event, please get in touch on hello@ctmregionalpartnershipboard.co.uk citing CYP Open Mic in the subject line, or give us a call on 07909726332.

Homeshare in Wales

Join us in person or online for our March seminar.

12noon on Tuesday 28th March 2023

Homeshare in Wales, Presented by Tim Crahart

The seminar will cover the history of Homeshare, why it is needed, how the model works, information regarding the three Homeshare pilots in Wales and end with an overview of the Homeshare UK network.

The programmes aim to tackle key issues in society such as loneliness and isolation as well as the housing crisis.

In Wales 54% of people aged 60-74 and 49% of people 75+ years, said they felt lonely sometimes (ONS) but they want to stay living at home for longer.

Younger people are being priced out of the villages, towns, and cities they want to live in, for work or study.
