Merthyr Tydfil Global Village was set up in 2005 to raise awareness of and celebrate the cultural diversity of Merthyr Tydfil. Using art and creative projects the team worked tirelessly to develop an annual festival dedicated to bringing cultures together and educating people about Merthyr Tydfil’s diverse roots.

Bids are invited for arts-based projects that align with the spirit of Merthyr Tydfil Global Village Projects should celebrate and raise awareness of the cultural diversity of Merthyr Tydfil. Projects can include workshops, educational activities, dance, music, crafts and food etc to support and promote community cohesion within Merthyr Tydfil, leading up to a celebratory event or be used for a multicultural event in themselves.

Maximum award of up to £1500

Closing date – 12 noon on 28th June 2024

All funding must be spent by 30th August 2024

RNID Awareness Talk: 9 July - 2 pm via Teams

With 12.5 Million people affected by Hearing Loss in the UK this is set to increase to 14.2 Million by 2035 find out what you can do to make your organisation more inclusive for people with hearing loss and Tinnitus, our RNID Awareness Talk will provide a you with a better understanding of RNID, increase awareness of deafness, hearing loss and tinnitus and help make your group/organisation and activities more inclusive for deaf and hard of hearing people

About the role:

To promote and develop the community railway lines on behalf of the Heads of the Valleys Railway Partnership.  Working in partnership with the local community, business, and tourism to establish and implement a community rail development plan that will benefit the community and the railway. The role of the Community Rail Officer is to support the Community Rail Partnership and have responsibility for the delivery of the Activity Plan that will be agreed by the regional steering group each year in line with the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act.
