Do you work with young people or vulnerable adults? Would you like to know more about the practice of ‘cuckooing’ or ‘home invasion’, whereby criminals take control of the home of another person to use it for criminal activity?

Join Detective Inspector Adam Norton for an awareness session hosted on behalf of the National County Lines Coordination Centre (NCLCC).

This session will enhance your understanding of the county lines model of drug supply, the exploitation of children and adults that underpins this model, the practice of ‘cuckooing’ and upcoming legislation designed to address this, emerging themes and trends, key indicators of exploitation, and available resources for support and guidance.

This session is aimed at practitioners working in Housing, Probation, Policing, Adult Services, Substance Support Services and all those who regularly visit the homes of vulnerable adults as part of their role.

Date: Thursday 4th December

Age Cymru is launching a new national campaign – Open doors, connected lives – to help reshape the public conversation around care homes in Wales.

About the campaign

Open doors, connected lives aims to:

  • Build understanding of the value of strong community / care home relationships
  • Challenge outdated stereotypes about ageing and residential care
  • Enable care homes to confidently engage with local communities and partners

Join us in changing the conversation

By helping older people and families feel informed and reassured, we can shift the narrative – from fear of isolation to connection, community, and choice.

Let’s help people to make positive choices and create care home communities where everyone feels seen, valued and connected.
