Ynni Cymru supports community-owned renewable energy and Smart Local Energy Systems (SLES). SLES bring together energy generation, storage, demand, and infrastructure in a local area. This improves efficiency and delivers the greatest local benefits.
We have created a £10 million capital grant funding programme. Public and community sector organisations, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) looking to develop SLES in Wales can apply for funding.
Projects will need to be completed by 31 March 2026.
Applications for the Ynni Cymru Capital Grant will close at 5pm on 16 June 2025.

Drop-In Sessions with the Ynni Cymru team will take place each Tuesday between 12-2 during the time the application window is open, and on Wednesday 7 May Business Wales are hosting a webinar at 11am to provide advice on good practise in terms of writing an application and undertaking procurement.
