The local authority is looking to put a bid in for the UK Town of Culture.
We are sure you are as excited as we are about this opportunity which gives us the chance to really place Merthyr Tydfil on the cultural and heritage map of the UK.
The bid will be a multi-agency stakeholder approach with key third sector organisations, community groups, businesses, and other partners having the opportunity to input into this bid from the beginning. To support this, we would like to invite you to Central Library on 12th February where officers and key partners will be present to facilitate a discussion on what this could mean for Merthyr Tydfil.
During the sessions we would like to hear your views on:-
- What is the Cultural & Heritage story of Merthyr Tydfil?
- What are our strengths as a community?
- How can we bring our story to life – what events/activities could we develop?
- How can we engage with as many people as possible?
Following this the initial bid will be collated and submitted by the deadline of 31st March.
To manage discussion effectively the day will be split into 6 sessions (maximum numbers for each session will be 20).
These will last approx. 60 mins and will start at
