Snakes and Ladders - Children and Young People’s Engagement Worker

The National Lottery funded Merthyr Tydfil ‘Snakes and Ladders’ Project is an exciting and ambitious opportunity to engage young people in informing and developing mental health and wellbeing responses for young people and, thereby, increase the long-term resilience of the young people of Merthyr Tydfil.

Led by Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council and working alongside a wide partnership of organisations across Merthyr Tydfil the initial development stage facilitated engagement with young people across the Borough to capture their wishes and feelings to shape future Project delivery and response to young people’s emotional and mental health needs. The Project is now entering an exciting second phase, working alongside young people, to shape service delivery in line with their prioritisation of mental health issues.

All partners involved believe that children and young people, and where appropriate their families, should have opportunities to have their voices heard and be taken seriously in decisions that affect them. We believe this leads to better decision-making and improved services.
