Safeguarding should be a priority for all voluntary organisations, especially those that work with children, young people and adults at risk. Good and appropriate safeguarding provides public reassurance about your organisation and contributes to the positive reputation of the sector in general.

This webinar will provide attendees with a basic introduction to safeguarding policy, principles and practice in the Welsh context.

Join WCVA’s Safeguarding Team for an introduction to Safeguarding, the webinar will provide attendees with a breakdown of the underlying foundations, legislation and guidance for safeguarding in Wales and explore the principles and practice to put in place in your organisation.

During this webinar Suzanne Mollison, WCVA’s Safeguarding Officer will explore key safeguarding messages. There will be time at the end of the webinar for questions.

The National Lottery Community Fund is organising a series of funding advice events, for charities and voluntary groups supporting older people across the South-East Wales region.

We are here to support communities through our open funding programmes, especially as they recover from the COVID-19 pandemic or face the increased challenges of the cost-of-living crisis.

We know older people are among the hardest hit so we have arranged a number of ways where you or groups you support can speak with a local Funding Officer.

There’s still time to book a space on the training session below.  We have four FREE places still available – first come first served.

Homeshare in Wales

Join us in person or online for our March seminar.

12noon on Tuesday 28th March 2023

Homeshare in Wales, Presented by Tim Crahart

The seminar will cover the history of Homeshare, why it is needed, how the model works, information regarding the three Homeshare pilots in Wales and end with an overview of the Homeshare UK network.

The programmes aim to tackle key issues in society such as loneliness and isolation as well as the housing crisis.

In Wales 54% of people aged 60-74 and 49% of people 75+ years, said they felt lonely sometimes (ONS) but they want to stay living at home for longer.

Younger people are being priced out of the villages, towns, and cities they want to live in, for work or study.
