Merthyr Tydfil Global Village was set up in 2005 to raise awareness of and celebrate the cultural diversity of Merthyr Tydfil. Using art and creative projects the team worked tirelessly to develop an annual festival dedicated to bringing cultures together and educating people about Merthyr Tydfil’s diverse roots.

Bids are invited for arts-based projects that align with the spirit of Merthyr Tydfil Global Village (please see accompanied documentation). Projects should celebrate and raise awareness of the diversity of Merthyr Tydfil. Projects can include workshops, educational activities, dance, music, crafts and food etc to support and promote community cohesion within Merthyr Tydfil, leading up to a celebratory event or be used for a multicultural event in themselves.

Maximum award of up to £3000

Closing date – 12 noon on 24th August 2023

All funding must be spent by 30th August 2024

Business Community Liaison Officer:

As part of the Working on Wellbeing (Wales) Project, Legacy in the Community are currently looking to recruit a highly motivated individual to join our team based in Merthyr Tydfil.

As the Business Community Liaison officer, you will be working with our partners to effectively deliver this Welsh Government funded project throughout Wales.

We are looking for someone who is proactive and passionate about promoting and increasing employment opportunities for individuals who have a disability or long-term health condition.

You will be working alongside organisations and local businesses to increase employment and training opportunities for individuals who have joined the Project. Therefore, developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders in the community.

Part of your responsibilities will also be to raise awareness of the Disability Confident Scheme.

  • You will be based in Merthyr Tydfil but will involve travelling as required throughout Wales (mileage expenses paid)
  • This is a fixed term contract until March 2025 
  • Salary: £24,000 per annum 
  • Full-time - 37.5 Hours (Hours maybe negotiable)

LGBTQ+ Coffee Morning

Theatre Soar

10am-12pm

August 12th then second Saturday of every month 

There's a brilliant children's show happening this Saturday.  A Welsh version in the morning and an English version in the afternoon. 

It's an accessible show by a Theatre Company that employs actors with learning and physical disabilities.  It's got BSL and captions so it’s completely accessible for children and parents.
