The Merthyr PIPYN pilot project aims to support children (aged 3-7 years) and their families achieve a healthy weight in Merthyr Tydfil.

Merthyr PIPYN families will be offered a package of interactive, fun family sessions tailored to each family’s unique circumstances. Merthyr PIPYN will even come and help at the supermarket, guiding families through a budget friendly healthy food shop.  Families can sign up easily by scanning the QR code:

Social tariffs: Cheaper broadband and phone packages for people on certain benefits.

Social tariffs are cheaper broadband and phone packages for people claiming Universal Credit, Pension Credit and some other benefits. However, take-up of these packages is very low, at around 5% of those eligible.

' Proposals to reform the ophthalmic services delivered in primary care in Wales'

The Welsh Government has launched a consultation on the reform of primary care ophthalmic services, and is encouraging anyone with an interest in eye health care in Wales, including health professionals, service users and the wider public, to consider the proposals.

The key proposal is to expand the eye care services delivered on the high street by optometrists. You can find out more and read the consultation document .

Come and celebrate summer at the Compass Community Hub. Lots of activities for the WHOLE family. Compass Community Hub would like to invite their partners to attend throughout the summer programme which starts 31st July & ends 1st September. We just ask that if you would like to attend, you bring along a fun activity for people to take part in. This could be arts & crafts, fitness activities or even CV writing etc.
