The National Lottery Community Fund has announced some exciting changes to their funding programmes in Wales.<\/p>

Small Eco Awards \u2014 now open<\/u><\/strong><\/p>

The Fund has launched a brand-new programme – \u00a0Small Eco Awards – offering grants of \u00a3300 to \u00a320,000 for community groups in Wales who want to take practical action for the environment.<\/p>

This could mean things like improving a local green space, protecting nature, reducing waste, connecting people with the environment, supporting climate resilience, or helping to create a greener, healthier community. It’s open to any community group with a practical idea – not just environmental organisations.<\/p>

Importantly, groups can hold a Small Eco Awards grant at the same time as a National Lottery Awards for All grant.<\/p>

Sustainable Steps Wales – Egin Programme \u2014 bigger grants now available<\/u><\/strong><\/p>

The maximum grant through the Egin environmental mentoring programme has more than doubled – from \u00a315,000 to \u00a335,000 – \u00a0from 22 July. Alongside the grant, organisations on the Egin programme receive personalised mentoring to help them build the skills and knowledge for lasting environmental change.<\/p>

People and Places \u2014 bigger grants from 9 September 2026<\/u><\/strong><\/p>

From 9 September, the maximum medium grant rises from \u00a3100,000 to \u00a3150,000, and the maximum large grant rises from \u00a3500,000 to \u00a3700,000. If you’re thinking about applying, speak with the Fund’s team first to discuss the most appropriate amount.<\/p>

Active\u00a0applications\u00a0currently\u00a0being assessed will be considered under the existing criteria.\u00a0Organisations\u00a0with an active application\u00a0who wish to apply for an increased amount can withdraw and resubmit\u00a0on or after 9 September.\u00a0 The Fund wants to make this as easy as possible and are therefore encouraging organisations to speak with their\u00a0allocated\u00a0Funding Officer who will support\u00a0them through this process.<\/p>
