Lotto Merthyr Tydfil Gets Green Light
Voluntary Action Merthyr Tydfil (VAMT) is delighted to announce an exciting new fundraising initiative for good causes – Lotto Merthyr Tydfil. The lotto will be a great way for people to support good causes whilst having fun, and getting the chance to win cash prizes!
Leading lottery management company, Gatherwell, has been appointed by VAMT to run the scheme, having already launched similar lotteries elsewhere.
When the Lotto launches in the coming weeks, people will be able to purchase tickets online, and support the good cause of their choice. Tickets will cost £1 a week. The draw will be weekly with a jackpot of £25,000, other prizes being £2,000, £250 and £25.
Good causes will soon be invited to register to raise funds with Lotto Merthyr Tydfil, and keep 60% from every ticket sold (10% of which goes into a central fund). A further 18.2% from every ticket will go back to supporters as prizes; with the remainder being put towards operating costs and VAT.
VAMT Chief Officer, Sharon Richards said: I am thrilled that VAMT is working with Gatherwell to introduce a community lottery to Merthyr Tydfil. This fantastic opportunity aligns with our work to support voluntary and community organisations to achieve financial sustainability. Amidst the enduring financial crisis, this development couldn’t be more timely nor important as a means of support for our communities in their quest to remain resilient.
Regular updates on the progress of Lotto Merthyr Tydfil will be posted on the
Lotto Merthyr Tydfil website, VAMT website and Facebook page.
