It can be difficult to know where to find new sources of funding for your group or project. VAMT can help with its database of funding opportunities. We can undertake a search for you, or you can book a slot to come in and explore the options yourself. It’s free of charge and staff will be able to assist you.

Ffos y Fran Community Fund

Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council administers a Community Fund in respect of royalty payments received by the Council from Miller Argent Limited based on tonnage of coal extracted from the Ffos Y Fran Land Reclamation Scheme.

Merthyr Valleys Homes Grants and Sponsorship

Merthyr Valleys Homes aim to be more than a social landlord. We want to invest in the lives of our tenants and the local community in ways that will improve people's quality of lives. This is the purpose of the Grant and Sponsorship Scheme.

If you’re a community based group or organisation which provides a benefit to the local community within the Merthyr Tydfil Borough you can apply for:

  • Small grant up to £500
  • Medium grant up to £3,000
  • Sponsorship of up to £1,000

The Welsh Church Act Fund

Administered by Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council and can make small capital grants for up to £2,000 or large capital grants of up to £10,000.

Tower Fund

While primarily funding the Cynon Valley communities of Hirwaun, Rhigos, Penderyn and Penywaun, the Tower Colliery Common Fund can also support organisations in other coalmining areas with small grants.
